Because I don't have much time, the english pages are no longer updated.
Please, read the italian pages for updates and remember that some pages in the italian section, like "giochi" and "concorsi", are also written in english.
This is the English

can help by pointing them out to us. To develop the site to its full
potential I need your help!!! Write to me via the

The best

recent events; Articles of a geographic nature, the
ruins, the churches, the mountains.
High resolution pictures of Gallo's beautiful landscapes
which you can download and use as wallpaper on your
computer monitor. Among the oddities/curiosities
you may well find some of the same things long held deep
within your own memories of life in Gallo.

much more. In lingua (italian language
area) there is a deeper treatise on the Gallese dialect
so as to preserve, in written form, that which we
hold so dear: Our identity. In fact, there is no
doubt that a peoples' identity is based first and
foremost on its language.

Gallo is a "must"
destination for those who love nature, a healthy life
style, peace and quiet, clean air; for those who
love trekking and mountain biking; for those
who enjoy traditional food made of simple yet very
special ingredients; for those who seek to escape
the city to spend one day, one week, perhaps a
lifetime in this slow-paced life in harmony with
nature.

spectacular lake where you can chase the reflections of
majestic mountain peaks or where to test your fishing
skills, launch a canoe, or take a break by its shores
long enough to enjoy a leisurely meal or a picnic.
Do you love
trekking? There are many
trails in the mountains of the Matese Regional Park
where Gallo is located. You can trek across
mountains or test your endurance by climbing some of the
countless peaks located all around Gallo.
Do you love
natural springs? There
are many and varied fountains and natural springs in the
valley of Gallo. You will find the springs at r Mlin, Cap L Mondr, and the
headwaters of la Sava of
particular interest. The
unique character of Gallo's ancient fountains make a
visit to la Fntona
Vvial, r Pigniatiegl,
and Cap L Mondr a
rewarding experience. The trek to l'acqua d r Palumm will test
your physical endurance. However, you will discover that
this most unusual fountain rewards your perseverance
with unmatched vistas and the surprising serenity of
theforestsurrounding r
cuomp.
Do you love caves? Gallo is located in a region
replete with calcareous sites: limestone
formations. Hence, you will find several
destinations in the immediate surroundings where the
spelunker in you will find vast worlds to explore.
One of the more interesting formations, the caves of ru Cavut, is located in the
nearby village of Letino.
Not to be
missed, of course, are the churches of Gallo: The Ave Gratia Plena, located at
the center of the village and San Simeone (saint
Simon) located in the neighborhood of the 'Cuastllon'
(Castellone).
Does nature's beauty stir your
soul? Our village is
strategically situated as one of the gateways to the
Matese Regional Park . Here, where unspoiled
beauty abounds, you can find yourself in the
company of hares, foxes, quails, partridges, starlings,
wild boars, and hawks, just to name a few. Or, if
your physical exertion demands rest, you can, in the
shade of trees as varied as chestnut, oak, beech, or
hazel. You will be up-close to mountain-grown
oregano and decide you must have some for your
kitchen. Mushrooms abound here: Just the perfect addition to that
special sauce. Do you want to ride a horse?
You can do so here. And, when you think you've
seen all that our mountains have to offer you might just
be startled (not to mention frightened) by the
unexpected sighting of a wolf nearby.
In the nearby village of Vallelunga
you can explore the sheer crag of Pescorosso: An ideal
destination for a climb of medium difficulty. And,
while in Vallelunga, be sure to visit the site of the
ancient roman path which is evidenced by ruts cut by the
wheels of roman carts in the soft stone.
Do you
enjoy dining on "real" food? In Gallo you will find a variety of
local traditional dishes. The fare is absolutely unique
in its simplicity and honest goodness: the taste
